Terra-Gen owns and operates 4 battery energy storage projects throughout California, representing over 1,500 megawatts (MW) of energy storage, enough to power 1.5 million homes for approximately 4 hours. Terra-Gen has an additional 1,000 MW under construction, expected to come on-line in 2025.

Our projects provide safe, clean and reliable energy to the residents, businesses and surrounding communities. Energy storage is an essential component to new renewable energy supplies, and it helps maximize the efficiency of previous renewable energy investments. Energy storage does this by charging its batteries during the middle of the day, when solar and wind energy supplies are abundant and often in surplus, and then discharges that energy supply back to our communities when the renewable energy supply is low and needed most.
